Our Granddaughter wrote this for our 50th Anniversary Celebration this year: “Today is a beautiful day. This day 50 years ago was also beautiful. 50 years ago today two of the most amazing people I know decided to spend the rest of their lives with each other. Best friends become husband and wife. Husband and Wife became Mom and Dad. Mom and Dad became Grandma and Grandpa. No matter what, with my grandma traveling the world, and my grandpa coming home with new car ideas, they have stuck by each other’s sides through thick and thin. They define true love. I look up to these two people in so many ways. Today is your day. Happy Golden Anniversary. Happy 50 years of marriage.”
We had a wonderful at home meal with just immediate family and watched some old 8mm silent films. When everyone left we discovered the clips from our wedding day – and with modern technology I put them into a video:
